The Minnesota Vikings had two third round picks in tonight’s portion of the 2020 NFL Draft, and they decided to double up on the cornerback position.

After taking Jeff Gladney in the first round, the Vikings came back with the 89th overall pick and selected Mississippi State standout Cameron Dantzler.

Dantzler is a big, rangy corner, standing 6’2” and weighing about 190 pounds. He doesn’t have a lot of size, but he has the ability to stay with wide receivers, as he showed playing in the Southeastern Conference.

As we’ve detailed, the Vikings have a lot of questions on the depth chart at cornerback, with the top two guys as things stand right now being Mike Hughes and Holton Hill. Dantzler is going to have an opportunity to contribute early, and if he can add a little size he can be the sort of corner that Mike Zimmer will love.

Let us know what you think about the selection of Cameron Dantzler at pick #89, folks!
