Yes, more players in the secondary

With their second-to-last pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings grabbed yet another player to try to plug into the secondary.

With Pick #249 in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings have selected safety Brian Cole II from Mississippi State University.

The Vikings do need some help at the safety spot, so Cole might have an opportunity to stick. To be honest, I really don’t know a whole lot else about him, so I’ll have to do some digging.

Here’s what Lance Zierlein of NFL.com had to say about Cole:

Cole possesses good size and strength to compete for a role as a box safety, but his lack of experience and consistency should be a concern for NFL evaluators. He flashes traits and potential to become a more impactful run defender but gets lost in coverage and can be exploited. He has some special teams value and might be worthy of a stash spot on a practice squad.

Welcome to Minnesota, Brian Cole!
