Ready for summer?

Jeff George #3...

Merry Monday, everyone!

I don’t know about you, but I am ready for summer. Those of you who live in more humane climates wouldn’t understand, but here on Hoth, winter-y weather can linger for far too long. Take a guess at what I did this weekend. Go ahead, take a guess. Um, nope, that’s not it. Guess again. Ooh,that sounds like a lot of fun, but no, that’s not it, either, unfortunately. Give up? Okay, I’ll tell you. I had to go out and cover my plants because otherwise, the frost would have killed them. Yes, that’s right. FROST. IN FRIGGIN MAY. I’ve had enough, we need sunshine and warm weather, and we need it yesterday. Frost. Good grief.

One thing to go over today, and this is directed to a very small portion of our commenters, but should be read by all. Some comments by a select few have been pushing the boundaries of decency lately. Rob and I have been busy, and we haven’t been monitoring as closely as we normally do, so it’s gone on longer than it should. Comments that are demeaning toward a specific gender need to stop. It’s not allowed, everyone knows it, so put an end to it. The open thread is a place where everyone is welcome, and it will remain that way. It’s basically just common decency, and it applies to everyone who wants to comment here.

Over 99% of you do not make comments like those I’m referring to, and I thank you for that. To the <1% who do make those type of comments, you need to stop making them. If you don’t stop making those comments, then we’ll just stop you from being able to comment. Thanks!

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Luft Krigare shared CPTN Quick Shots, give it a listen!

Chris takes an in-depth look at the first quarter of the Vikings’ 2020 schedule.

Other Vikings/NFL news, and random oddities and annoyances:

Cousins tells Dak Prescott that he shouldn’t be afraid of the franchise tag, per NFL.com.

From FoxSports, faith is what helps Carson Wentz stay focused.

We come to today’s media selection:

It’s been far too long since we’ve played this one. This is the famous Jerry Burns post-game press conference after A WIN. CAUTION, NSFW LANGUAGE because it’s Jerry f***ing Burns. Enjoy!

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags-
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Wipe the fish guts off of your hands before you touch your face, and try the finger food.
