Weekend Eve Open Thread

Good Morning, It’s Weekend Eve!

We made it through the stadium debates, sparkle ponies, Ponder v Webb and the off-season antics of Adrian Peterson; we’ll make it through this most recent episode too. If you live in an area affected by violence, please be smart and stay safe. My son had follow up yesterday with the hand surgeon; hand looks good for now, sutures come out next week and therapy begins. Meanwhile we’ll carry on with our news and links full of crockpot recipes, nap strategies and beer recommendations; drop by for some fan wisdom, snark and it’s weekend eve, you should leave work early and fire up the smoker.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

HC Mike Zimmer: Vikings weren’t going to trade Stefon Diggs, but the Bills’ trade offer was just too good to turn down per Chris.

Will you cry when the Vikings win the Super Bowl ponders Chris.

Vikings news from other sources:

From Former Vikings player and coach Pete Bercich continues his breakdown of the team’s 15-man 2020 draft class by looking at WR K.J. Osborn, a wideout from Miami that the Vikings took in the 5th round. Could he provide immediate help as a return man and later develop into a threat on offense?

Vikings 1st-Rounders Jefferson & Gladney Continuing Admiration From Afar.

Despite Virtual Program, Garrett Bradbury Comfortable with Progression into Year 2.

League News:

NFL extends virtual offseason, eyes return of coaches.

Trent Williams was prepared to play before NFI placement.

NFL tables fourth-and-15 onside kick alternative proposal.

Panthers sign CB Eli Apple, add much-needed depth to secondary.

We come to today’s media selection: Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to wash your hands, don’t touch your waiter’s face and Welcome Aboard!

No Covid 19 discussions.

I’m at work now, and thought about the earlier suggestion of a separate fanpost allowing politics and all the other shit I hate about the internet and social media.

I’m going to let this thread continue for now; however it’s likely I’ll end up closing comments on this thread and if that happens I won’t waste my personal time on a weekend thread.

Go somewhere else if you don’t like my decision(s)
Tread carefully from here on out
