We know that Minnesota Vikings’ quarterback Kirk Cousins has made a whole lot of money in recent years. Between the fully guaranteed three-year deal he signed in 2018 and the extension he signed a couple of months ago, he’s gotten quite a hefty chunk of change.
How hefty? Well, according to ESPN, Cousins is one of the ten highest-paid athletes in the world. Not in American sports. . .in the world.

Cousins checks in at #9 on the list of the ten highest-paid athletes in the world, and is one of only two football players to appear on the list. This covers the period from 1 June 2019 to 1 June 2020.
I’m actually kind of surprised to see Cousins appear on this list. Obviously he’s made a ton of money with the way things worked out for him and his contract status, but I didn’t know he’d be on the same level as some of the world’s top soccer players, given that the money in international soccer is pretty high.
Cousins is joined on the list by three soccer players, three NBA stars, one tennis player, and one golfer. And, for some reason, Carson Wentz.
