Thorsday Open Thread

Minnesota Vikings vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers - November 12, 1989

Good Morning, It’s Thorsday!

Your Thorsday Open Thread is up, running, and ready for business. I’m back on service again for the next seven days so links and my ability to follow the thread will be limited by work. Meanwhile we’ll carry on with our news and links full of crockpot recipes, nap strategies and beer recommendations; drop by for some fan wisdom, snark and it’s Thorsday - I was informed this is cultural appropriation, but I’m not smart and still don’t know what that means.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Report: NFL, NFLPA discussing cutting two preseason games.

Unbelievable! - Define Reasonable. BJ Reidell and Drew Mahowald discuss the contract negotiations between Dalvin Cook and the Vikings.

Vikings news from other sources:

Lunchbreak: CBS Sports Makes Case for Vikings ‘Franchise 5’ Icons.

Xs and Os: How Drafted Receivers Could Make Biggest 1st Splash for Vikings.

At SkorNorth.com Judd Zulgad ponders: New CBA means Dalvin Cook holding out hope he will get new contract.

League News:

State of the Franchise: Bengals trending up with Joe Burrow.

We come to today’s media selection: Royal Blood - Figure It Out
(violent imagery in here, if that’s not your thing don’t click on the embed.

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to wash your hands, tip your waiter well and Welcome Aboard!
