Happy Monday, everyone!

A day-late happy Fathers Day to all the fellow dads out there, dads are an often under-appreciated piece of the societal framework, so hats off to all of you who do the little things to provide, protect, and make your families better. Did anyone do anything special yesterday? The fam told me we could do whatever I wanted to do, so we went fishing. It was a great day.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Vikings draftee James Lynch was chosen by PFF as one of the day 3 picks in favorable situations.

Taquarias Wair was honored with the Jimmy V award for perseverance at the ESPYs, from Chris. What an inspirational story, we tend to take a lot for granted in our lives and we forget to be thankful.

Other Vikings/NFL news, and random oddities and annoyances:

The Star-Tribune looks at the Gjallarhorn, a Minnesota Vikings tradition since 2007, which may be on hold until at least 2021.

Dak Prescott didn’t waste any time signing his franchise tender, and Yahoo Sports looks at why that was likely a smart move.

We come to today’s media selection:

I couldn’t think of a better song for Fathers Day, this is a great one by one of the best singers ever. This is George Strait with Love Without End, Amen. enjoy!

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t wash your hands, touch each other’s faces often, and go ahead and try the finger food.
