We’re up and running, go ahead and comment.....within reason

Merry Tuesday, everyone!

Okay, so yesterday’s conversations got a little......animated, so let’s (and I include myself in that) try to keep it a little more tame today. Can we all just agree that this is all Ponder’s fault? Thought so.

Little fishin’ out on the boat

This pic is from our trip on Sunday, kiddo is loving the boat almost as much as dad is.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Chris gives us some over/under action on Dalvin Cook’s 2020 season. I went with over on all 3, these guys almost always stay healthy and have career years in contract seasons. Maybe he can pull a Flacco and run us to the Superb Owl.

Other Vikings/NFL news, and random oddities and annoyances:

Former NFL OL Max Tuerk died at the age of 26 while out hiking with his family, per FoxSports. No further details have been released yet.

From The Sporting News, Redskins LB Ryan Anderson plays hard, maybe too hard, according to the quote in this story. Yikes.

CBS Sports projects five potential landing spots for Josh Gordon if he were to be reinstated. They forgot to mention one team, I’m sure it was an oversight.

We come to today’s media selection:

A conversation with CCHOF yesterday reminded me that this video would be perfect for a post-Fathers day video selection, and he also mentioned the second video, which is even better. The first is Ken Griffey Jr. and Sr. becoming the only father and son duo to hit back to back home runs. The second story is Michael Lorenzen doing something absolutely amazing, details are in the video, and it is an unbelievable and underappreciated moment in sports history. Enjoy!

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t wash your hands, touch each other’s faces often, and go ahead and try the finger food.
