Merry Wednesday, everyone!
Hey, we’ve reached the peak of this NFL off-season week. This is, as we’ve been saying, the long slow news cycle of the off-season. To give us something to talk about, I’ll follow Rob’s lead and go with a topic for today, so here it is:
Which team do you think will be a surprise playoff team in 2020? I’m talking about a team that is not getting a lot of hype from the media to make much noise, but that you think will wind up winning 10 or more. I know mine, but I’ll save it for the comments. We started this one in the comments late yesterday, but most people were logged off by then, so let’s do it again. What say you?
Around the DN since our last open thread:
Other Vikings/NFL news, and random oddities and annoyances:
ESPN looks at the task facing Adam Gase: fixing the broken Jets offense. He might have to start putting in 28 hour days.
The Seahawks and Ravens have looked at signing Antonio Brown, per NFL.com. For those of you who are curious, as I was, here are a couple of stories that shed some light on the issues surrounding Brown, one story comes from SI.com, and another is from The Sporting News.
With Gronkowski’s return ahead of us in 2020, CBS Sports lists their “Top 10 NFL comebacks after retirement”.
We come to today’s media selection:
I turned this on for kiddo to listen to on our way back home from fishing last night. Enjoy!
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Take the gender hatred elsewhere, it won’t be tolerated
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-If discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t wash your hands, touch each other’s faces often, and try the finger food.
