Yee-haw! It’s Friday!

Minneapolis, MN 10/3/99 Vikings vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers — Viking defensive end Chris Doleman, right, congratulates teammate Corey Miller after Miller intercepted a Tampa Bay touchdown in the fourth quarter Sunday at the Metrodome. The play was an import

Merry Friday, everyone!

We’ve made it to the one day of the workweek that is better than Monday. Anyone have any plans for the weekend? This will probably come as a shock to you, but I plan to fish.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Chris asks you to name your all-time favorite player from each NFC North rival. That’s easy for me, Barry Sanders, Walter Payton, and Brett Favre (he’s the only guy from that team that I like).

Wludford posted NFL vs. COVID-19: A Preview.

The NFL’s best stadium was named the NFL’s best stadium, per Chris.

Other Vikings/NFL news, and random oddities and annoyances:

From FoxSports, ESPN asked NFL execs to rank the top running backs in the league.

From FoxSports, DeSean Jackson made some dumb a**, anti-Semitic comments on social media. He apologized later. Here’s a good rule to live by: If you’re thinking of publicly quoting Hitler......don’t. Idiot.

We come to today’s media selection:

Here’s my favorite Friday song, from the Possum himself, along with some help from many Looney Tunes characters. Enjoy!

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Take the gender hatred elsewhere, it won’t be tolerated
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-If discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t wash your hands, touch each other’s faces often, and try the finger food.
