Good Morning, It’s Thorsday

Your Thorsday Open Thread is up, running, and ready for business. I’m off service for the next seven days and ready to participate in all the Covid 19 discussions....really, I’d like to take a break from reading about the plague because it’s like being at work. Consistent with the theme of the Open Thread, I’ll post a crockpot recipe today. Meanwhile we’ll carry on with our news and links full of crockpot recipes, nap strategies and beer recommendations; drop by for some fan wisdom, snark and it’s Thorsday - I was informed this is cultural appropriation, but I’m not smart and still don’t know what that means.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Chris notes: Giants tried to swing trade for Anthony Harris before 2020 NFL Draft.

No long-term deal for Anthony Harris as franchise deadline passes.

Vikings news from other sources:

From Vikings.com Former Vikings player and coach Pete Bercich continues his breakdown of the team’s 15-man 2020 draft class by breaking down OL Kyle Hinton, a 7th round pick out of Washburn, who is very raw but might have more upside than any other pick made by the team this year.

State of the Vikings: Cornerbacks. Vikings.com’s Gabe Henderson is joined by former Vikings linebacker and current radio analyst Ben Leber to look at the massive amount of turnover the team will see at the cornerback position heading into the 2020 season and how they are setup to move forward with this new-look group.

Lunchbreak: Randy Moss, Antoine Winfield, Dante Culpepper Among Nate Burleson’s ‘Top 5 Teammates’

League News:

Derrick Henry, Titans agree to terms on four-year, $50M deal.

Ranking tagged players based on who’s most likely to stay put in 2021.

Franchise tag roundup: Who got a deal done ahead of deadline?

Jaguars turned down Yannick Ngakoue deal that included Pro Bowler.

State of the Franchise: Critical year for Gase, Darnold, future of Jets.

Scouting Trey Lance: North Dakota State QB similar to Andrew Luck.

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to wash your hands, try the buffet and Welcome Aboard!

Topic of the Day: RB Derrick Henry of the Titans signed a four year deal worth $50M
($12.5M per year) with $25M guaranteed. Dalvin Cook is going to play out his rookie deal and become an unrestricted FA next year. Considering the recent RB market, if you were the GM of the Vikings, what reasonable, legitimate contract would you offer Dalvin Cook to stay? How much, how long and what’s the signing bonus?
