Good Morning, It’s Friday!

Your Weekend Eve Open Thread is up, running, and ready for business. To be honest, I’m worn out with the Covid 19 talk, let’s find something.....really anything else to talk about. I do realize that Covid 19 dominates the headlines and is interfering with our NFL season, but if you came here to push your agenda, no matter what it is, you’ll be on the outside looking in very quickly. It feels like I’m at work, and just like you this is my fun place to post gifs and have a general good time. Meanwhile we’ll carry on with our news and links full of crockpot recipes, nap strategies and beer recommendations; drop by for some fan wisdom, snark and it’s weekend eve, time to get the smoker ready for the weekend.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Report: NFL will alter Injured Reserve rules for COVID-19.

Vikings news from other sources:

From Vikings.com State of the Vikings: Defensive Line. Vikings.com’s Gabe Henderson is joined by former Vikings linebacker and current radio analyst Ben Leber to look at the team’s situation at defensive line, where long-time anchors like Everson Griffen and Linval Joseph have moved on, opening the door for young players and newcomers like DT Michael Pierce to make their mark, with of course DE Danielle Hunter looking to continue his trajectory as one of the NFL’s top pass-rushers.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero shares that the NFL and the NFLPA are at a ‘critical juncture’ in determining preseason protocols.

League News:

Chandler Jones, Gardner Minshew among 2019’s overproducers.

Chiefs, Texans instruct rookies to report to camp Monday.

NFLPA: 72 players tested positive for COVID-19, as of July 10th.

We come to today’s media selection: Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to wash your hands, try the buffet and Welcome Aboard!

Topic of the Day: When do you think the Vikings will get all their draft picks from the 2020 draft signed?
