Tuesday Open Thread: July 21, 2020

Merry Tuesday, everyone!

We’re trudging slowly through this new work week in search of a weekend, and all of the fishing that the weekend has to offer. The walleye are still biting up on the big lake, so I’m thinking of taking the boat and the fam up for a little mini-vacation one of these weekends, maybe it’ll be this upcoming weekend.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Chris gave us a heads-up on a variety of Vikings-centric programming airing on the NFL Network today and tomorrow.

The NFL and NFLPA agree on COVID-19 testing protocols, per Chris.

Other Vikings/NFL news, and random oddities and annoyances:

From Vikings.com, the team has TCO Performance Center retrofitted and prepped for proper social distancing.

Over at the Strib, Chip Scoggins doesn’t believe the Vikings should allow Zimmer’s contract to be yet another distraction in a season that is already filled with distractions.

The NFL has reportedly offered to scrap the preseason, per Yahoo Sports. Wow, no dressed rehearsals, it’ll fall back on the coaching staff’s ability to evaluate talent in training camp.

ESPN asks if the AFC East is ready for a changing of the guard in 2020. It’s entirely possible that the division won’t have a guard this year, might we see every team in a division finish with losing records.
