Merry Tuesday, everyone!
You ever have one of those really good weekends, a weekend where everything seems to go right, and everyone is relaxed and happy all weekend? We had one of those this past weekend. We went eastward to do some kayaking & camping along the Sheyenne River here in North Dakota, and it was a blast. We stayed in a cabin, which is actually a covered wagon (a very large one, it had a king bed, bunk beds, and a table), so kiddo was pretty stoked about that. The river is flooding at the moment, so we got a chance to navigate it while it is at rarely seen levels. I traveled it by myself the first day, then we loaded up the other kayak and all went together the next day. The fishing wasn’t great, mainly due to the flooding, but we all had a lot of fun.
Hey, there are football things happening, let’s get to ‘em.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
The Vikings released footage from their virtual draft room.
The Vikings placed four rookies on the Covid-19 reserve list.
Nothing to worry about, because we have one of the best trainers in the NFL, he’ll have them back on the field in no time. What? Oh. Ahem, well, um. Vikings trainer Eric Sugarman has also tested positive for Covid-19.
Other Vikings/NFL news, and random oddities and annoyances:
From NFL.com, 12 NFL players have tested positive for Covid-19. Wait, so only 12 in the entire NFL, and the Vikings had 4 of them?
ESPN looks inside the trade that sent Jamal Adams to Seattle.
The Sporting News shared a rumor that the Packers may be looking to sign Everson Griffen. Say it ain’t so, Joe.....err......Everson.
We come to today’s media selection:
Man, i love me some Don Williams, and this is one of my favorite songs of his, a song called “Good Ole Boys Like Me”. Enjoy!
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Take the gender hatred elsewhere, it won’t be tolerated
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-If discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go awayd
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t wash your hands, touch each other’s faces often, and try the finger food.
