Happy Thirsty Thorsday, everyone!
We’re rollin’ on through this lovely work week, cruising toward another beautiful summer weekend. I plan to do much fishing this weekend, and I hope to squeeze in a little yard work, if time allows.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
Chris looks at the salary cap implications of Michael Pierce’s opt-out.
Wludford wonders if continuity will (finally!) bring the Vikings a championship.
From Chris, three more Vikings have tested positive for Covid-19. Looking on the bright side, at the rate they’re going, all the players should have contracted and recovered from the disease prior to the regular season. The other teams are all way behind. Maybe this was Sugarman’s master plan all along? Hmmmmmmmm?
Other Vikings/NFL news, and random oddities and annoyances:
ESPN wonders if the addition of Stefon Diggs will change the Bills’ offensive identity. I don’t know, I suppose it might if the addition of Diggs is going to make Allen a more accurate passer. Maybe Diggs is a QB whisperer?
Chad Johnson says he took Viagra prior to games in order to get around PED rules, per the Sporting News. Now, I don’t want to sound ignorant, but wouldn’t taking Viagra and experiencing its......effects......... make it
hard difficult to run? Also, if the game goes long, you may run into that whole “after 4 hours, call a doctor” thing.
We come to today’s media selection:
Here’s one of the current country artists that I enjoy. This is Mr. Robert Earl Keen with Feelin’ Good Again. Enjoy!
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Take the gender hatred elsewhere, it won’t be tolerated
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-If discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go awayd
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t wash your hands, touch each other’s faces often, and try the finger food.
