Wednesday Open Thread: August 12, 2020

Merry Wednesday, y’all!

How’s the new comment system working? I didn’t get a chance to log on yesterday, so today will be my first exposure to the new system, other than what I saw in the tutorial. @I can’t wait to try it out@. It had better not interrupt the important work we do here. You know, discussing beer, laying our 2-year-olds down for naps, etc. As long as we all remember to blame Ponder, it should work out alright.

SB Nation announced the launch of the new format after an earlier announcement that it was on the way.

From NFL.com, DT Mike Daniels signed a one-year deal with the Bengals worth up to $2.7 million. Also from NFL.com, the NFL lifted its ban on tryouts, but kept health-related limits in place.

From ESPN, Bill Barnwell mentions the Packers and Seahawks among teams that are most likely to decline. I don’t agree with the Seahawks being in there, I have no problem with the rest.

From FoxNews, more ugly details have emerged regarding Derrius Guice and the incidents that led to his arrest.
