The Vikings are a pretty good bet to surpass their projected win total

When the over/under win totals come out from the sportsbooks before every NFL season, there are teams that almost immediately look like good best and teams that look like bad bets. According to Sports Betting Dimes, the Minnesota Vikings fall firmly into that first category.

The folks from SBD have put together their list of which teams are the best bets to go over their projected win totals for 2020, and only one team has better odds of it than the purple do.

1. Indianapolis Colts (67.4% chance of going over 8.5)

2. Minnesota Vikings (63.1% chance of going over 8.5)

3. Kansas City Chiefs (61.8% chance of going over 11.5)

4. Green Bay Packers (61.7% chance of going over 8.5)

5. San Francisco 49ers (60.1% chance of going over 10.5)

6. Chicago Bears (57.8% chance of going over 7.5)

Strange that three of the top six teams are all from the NFC North. But, the Vikings are given a slightly better chance of going above their projected win total than the Packers are, which is nice.

Despite the Vikings finishing three games behind the Packers in the NFC North in 2019, it appears that division is pretty well up for grabs in 2020. Beyond not knowing exactly how things are going to go with COVID-19 and that situation, there really isn’t that much separation between the four NFC North clubs. If the Vikings can get their young contributors up to speed during this strange preseason, they could be in a position to make a solid run this season.

What do you think of the Vikings’ chances of going over 8.5 wins in 2020? Are you as confident as the folks from Sports Betting Dimes?
