The Minnesota Vikings defense in 2020. Part 2 of the Climbing The Pocket Network’s Quick Shots will be discussing and previewing the Vikings defense that has gone through a significant amount of changes especially in the defensive backfield with the DBs from last season to this one. Could they be better than in 2019?
Mike Zimmer has his work cut out for him as the defense has been refreshed with new talent and faces on the defensive line and especially in the cornerbacks’ room. The Vikings have two of the best safeties in the business in Harrison Smith and Anthony Harris. Them being there as a safety blanket will surely help, but will it also help with the communication and mentorship of the corners speeding up their ascension? Will Mike Zimmer do his cornerback “whisperer” thing, especially with moldable new minds? Will the corners like Jeff Gladney, Cameron Dantzler, Holton Hill and Mike Hughes tackle as well as Xavier Rhodes, Trae Waynes and Mackensie Alexander did? We hope so, and be better in coverage.
