Friday is when teams have to submit their final injury reports ahead of Sunday’s NFL games, and both the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers have done so leading up to Sunday’s tilt at U.S. Bank Stadium.
Normally, we’d put the visiting team first and follow it with the home team, but this week we’ll start with the Vikings’ injury report because there is no injury report. Well, there is, it just doesn’t have any names on it. So, in theory, all of the players on the Vikings rosters are healthy, practiced in full all week, and will be available for Sunday’s game.
The same can not be said for their opponents, as the Packers do have a couple of injury issues they’re dealing with going into this one. Here is their injury summary for this week.
Green Bay Packers Week 1 Injury Report
Player | Position | Injury | Wednesday | Thursday | Friday | Sunday Status |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Player | Position | Injury | Wednesday | Thursday | Friday | Sunday Status |
Randy Ramsey | LB | Groin | DNP | DNP | DNP | Out |
Billy Turner | OL | Knee | DNP | LP | DNP | Doubtful |
Montravius Adams | DL | Toe | LP | LP | LP | Doubtful |
Raven Greene | S | Quadricep | LP | LP | LP | Questionable |
Oren Burks | LB | Groin | LP | FP | FP | -- |
Marcedes Lewis | TE | Non-Injury | -- | DNP | FP | -- |
The biggest blow for the Packers is Turner, who I believe was slated to take over as the starting right tackle and, at the very least, serves as a decent backup for Green Bay. As we mentioned in Thursday’s report, the Marcedes Lewis DNP on Thursday was a veteran rest day, so he doesn’t have any injuries that we’re aware of.
Those are your final injury reports for the Vikings and the Packers heading into Sunday’s big season opening contest at U.S. Bank Stadium. We’ll have plenty more coverage of this week’s game as we get closer to kickoff.
