Vikings interim injury report: More names being added

It’s not getting better

NFL: Philadelphia Eagles at Minnesota Vikings Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

Man, remember back in Week 1 when the Minnesota Vikings didn’t put any names on their injury report? Wasn’t that fun?

As we get closer to the third game of the season, the fun level has decreased sharply. We have the injury reports from Thursday, so let’s take a look at them here. We’ll start with the good guys.

Did Not Participate

  • CB Cameron Dantzler (rib)
  • CB Mike Hughes (neck)

Limited Participation

  • RB Mike Boone (concussion, upgrade from DNP Wednesday)
  • CB Kris Boyd (hamstring, new addition to injury report)
  • OT Riley Reiff (ankle)

Full Participation

No players listed

So, three of the names on the Vikings’ cornerback depth chart are dealing with injuries at this point. Right now the team has Jeff Gladney, Holton Hill, Harrison Hand, and Mark Fields (practice squad) at the cornerback spot. Not great, Bob.

Now let’s take a look at the Titans’ injury report.

Did Not Participate

  • WR A.J. Brown
  • CB Johnathan Joseph (calf/illness, downgrade from FP Wednesday)
  • LB Derick Roberson (illness)

Limited Participation

  • CB Malcolm Butler (quad, upgrade from DNP Wednesday)
  • DB Chris Jackson (hamstring, upgrade from DNP Wednesday)

Full Participation

  • LB Vic Beasley (knee)
  • OL Jamil Douglas (hand)
  • RB Darrynton Evans (hamstring)
  • OT Dennis Kelly (illness, upgrade from DNP Wednesday)
  • TE Jonnu Smith (ankle, upgrade from DNP Wednesday)

The Titans appear to be getting a bit healthier and the Vikings. . .well, aren’t.

The final injury reports for both teams come out tomorrow. We’ll see how many changes there are over the next 24 hours.
