This offseason, the Minnesota Vikings had the son of a former member of the team in their training camp. If he’s going to make it in the NFL, however, he will have to start his journey from the team’s practice squad.
The Vikings have waived center Jake Lacina, the son of former Vikings’ offensive lineman Corbin Lacina, and have expressed interest in bringing him back to the practice squad.
Lacina had a very successful career at Augustana University, where Pro Bowl fullback C.J. Ham played his college football. He was the winner of the 2019 Riminigton Award at the FCS level, which is given to the best center at each level of college football.
It would be interesting to see the son of a Vikings alumni have an opportunity to make his way up through the ranks. Hopefully the Vikings will get him on to the practice squad without any issues.
We will continue to track all of the roster moves the Vikings are making today, and you can see them all right here on our roster cut tracker.
