With the questions that the Minnesota Vikings have along the offensive line, there were spots to be had at the backup spots. Unfortunately, one of the team’s draft picks from this past April will not be getting one of those opportunities, at least for now.
The Vikings have waived guard Kyle Hinton as a part of their final cuts.
Hinton was the last player the Vikings drafted this past April after a successful career at Washburn University. A seventh-round pick, he was going to have an uphill climb to make the roster, and the lack of preseason games likely hurt him the way it hurt a lot of late-round picks and undrafted free agents this offseason.
There has been no indication yet about whether or not Hinton is a candidate to come back to the Vikings as a member of the practice squad.
We are less than four hours away from the Vikings needing to get their roster down to 53 players. You can track all of the moves they’re making to get there on our Roster Cut Tracker.
