Minnesota Vikings at Detroit Lions: Final injury reports

Well, folks, the final injury reports of the 2020 season are here for both the Detroit Lions and your Minnesota Vikings. The list of players that won’t be suiting up on Sunday for our favorite team is pretty extensive. . .in fact, the inactive list for Sunday is pretty much a done deal already. Let’s take a look at their injury report first.

Yes, that’s six players that have already been declared out for the Vikings. Those numbers don’t count Kyle Rudolph, who was placed on IR earlier this week, or Riley Reiff, who is on the COVID-19 list and may or may not be available for Sunday’s finale. The understanding is that if Reiff isn’t available it will be Rashod Hill at left tackle for the Vikings. There had been some speculation that Ezra Cleveland. . .who is, presumably, the left tackle of the future. . .would get an opportunity there, but it doesn’t sound like that’s the case.

In the event that Bailey can’t go, the Vikings could end up elevating kicker Taylor Bertolet from the practice squad.

Now, let’s move on to the much shorter Lions injury report.

The Lions have declared three players out, including star wide receiver Kenny Golladay, who has had injury issues all season long. Matthew Stafford left the Lions’ last game early with a myriad of injuries, and it remains to be seen whether or not he’ll play on Sunday.
