A Way-Too-Early 2021 Season Prediction

Now that the regular season has come to a close, we now know we will be facing next season, but not yet the order.

Regardless, it is never too early to speculate how things will go. I will be making these guesses with the idea that the teams are going to be nearly identical as they were this last year.

I won't be going week-to-week, but hoping from one home game to an away game.

-----------------

Game 1: Minnesota Vikings vs Chicago Bears (Home)

Outcome: W

Currently, it seems as though Nagy will be back around for the 2021 season, but it remains to be seen whether or not Trubisky will as well. Regardless, I don't see them beating us at home. Hopefully, with some help at Guard (Please God), they will actually be able to produce with Akeem Hicks in the center of the Bears D-Line. While I think they win this game, I don't think they win at Solider Field. I say we win here purely because it's at home.

Record: 1-0

----------------------------------------------

Game 2: Minnesota Vikings vs Chicago Bears (Away)

Outcome: L

2020 was simply an odd year, as the Vikings played better at Soldier Field than they did at home, which doesn't normally happen. I think last years win there was a fluke. We could not do anything on offense, but neither could the Bears, and it became a game of attrition. The Bears broke first, with Hicks getting shaken up, and only then did the offense start to actually be effective. Our game-plan can't be stopped by one guy, and be effective. Not to mention ST woes.

Record: 1-1

-----------------------------------

Game 3: Minnesota Vikings vs Seattle Seahawks (Home)

Outcome: W

For the first time since I can't remember when, the Seahawks come to Minnesota. It seems like we've faced them every season, and every game, it's always in Seattle. We came close to beating them this last time, but I think we finally beat them at home. I assume this game will probably be primetime. I also assume that this game will be more reliant on our defense than our offense.

Record; 2-1

----------------------------------

Game 4: Minnesota Vikings vs San Fran 49ers (Away)

Outcome:L

The 49ers were absolutely decimated by injuries, even more so than we were. Their main issue is that they have big questions at QB, with Garroppolo not playing very well (and them being able to recoup a lot of that money). They have a better defense, and O-Line, but we have the better offensive weapons. Unfortunately, I don't think our offense overcomes.

Record: 2-2

----------------------------------

Game 5: Minnesota Vikings vs LA Rams (Home)

Outcome: L

The Rams look legit right now, and there isn't a reason for the to look the same come next year. They have a better defense and offense, and a reliable kicker. I don't see how we win this one, unless some players make some herculean plays.

Record: 2-3

-----------------------

Game 6: Minnesota Vikings vs Arizona Cardinals (Away)

Outcome: W

The Cardinals looked good at times, and looked horrid at others, but they ended the season with a better record, a better defense and an offense that was only slightly worse. I think they have a better QB, but we have a better RB and two great WR's. However, our defense was MIA most of the year and it should be better than it ever was in 2020. And with the hopes that our defense comes back and plays up to what they were in 2019, than we should win this game.

Record 3-3

------------------------

Game 7: Minnesota Vikings vs Green Bay Packers (Home)

Outcome: L

They are the best team in the NFC, and they have no weapons on offense, which they are probably going to remedy in this upcoming off-season. When they came here last year, they beat us up and down the field, and they probably would've had the weather in Green Bay been normal. They have a Conference Championship team, and are going to bolster it this next offseason. We don't have a Wildcard team, and even if we did, we would have to fill in holes that we ourselves are going to make this offseason, not even mentioning our already existing holes. Barring another freak weather game, I don't think we are going to win either games against them.

Record: 3-4

-----------------------

Game 8: Minnesota Vikings vs Green Bay Packers (Away)

Outcome; L

Record: 3-5

---------------------

Game 9: Minnesota Vikings vs Detroit Lions (Home)

Outcome: W

It's Detroit.

Record: 4-5

---------------------

Game 10: Minnesota Vikings vs Detroit Lions (Away)

Outcome: W

Record: 5-5

-------------------

Game 11; Minnesota Vikings vs Cleveland Browns (Home)

Outcome: L

The Browns have been a wayward soul for 2 decades, and now seem to finally have a competent coach in Kevin Stefanski. I think this will be a blowout. Stefanski is going to want to prove he's better than the guy who never let him get a chance on his own. And his team is really good. That always helps.

Record: 5-6

-------------------

Game 12: Minnesota Vikings vs Baltimore Ravens (Away)

Outcome: L

The Ravens are another team that finally have a franchise QB and are playing really well. Their defense is good, and their offense will run circle around us.

Record: 5-7

-------------------

Game 13: Minnesota Vikings vs Pittsburgh Steelers (Home)

Outcome: L

The Steelers had an easy schedule and a high powered offense. But when that offense got stopped, they had a hard time winning games. hey lost to Cleveland, mainly due to their self-inflicted wounds. They often play down to competition, only to be bailed out by high-end talent. Which is what I think will happen in this game.

Record: 5-8

---------------------

Game 14: Minnesota Vikings vs Carolina Panthers (Away)

Outcome; W

With a better defense, this game should be easier to win, and won't require a bad throw to win.

Record: 6-8

-----------------------

Game 15: Minnesota Vikings vs Dallas Cowboys (Home)

Outcome: L

We got outplayed by a team competing in the NFC Least. They will most likely have Dak back, but on a much cheaper contract than he probably would've liked, and if he plays as well as Andy Dalton did, we won't win.

Record; 6-9

-----------------------

Game 16: Minnesota Vikings vs Cincinnati Bengals (Away)

Outcome: L

This will be the Bills 2018, 1st Half Denver 2019, and Atlanta 2020 game. I.E. A game we should win, and win handedly, but we'll lose looking like absolute shit.

Record: 6-10

------------------

Game 17: Minnesota Vikings vs LA Chargers

Outcome: L

It is unclear who we will face, but the only one I've heard are the Chargers. Both sides of the ball are Top-10. The main reason they are 7-9 is due to poor coaching and time management, and should be remedied after they fired their coach.

Record: 6-11

-----------------

Without some really good moves and a good draft, I don't see this team being over .500.

9 games we play in 2021 are against playoff teams, and I have us winning 2.

The best I see this team being is 9-8, with extra wins against Green Bay, Chicago and the Bengals. I don't see how this team can be better than that.
