The AFC side of the equation for Super Bowl LV will be solved today at Arrowhead Stadium, as the Buffalo Bills hit the road to take on the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game.
The Bills are playing their third playoff game of the postseason, but this is their first road trip of the playoffs. They defeated the Indianapolis Colts in the Wild Card round by a final score of 27-24, and held off the Baltimore Ravens in the Divisional round by a score of 17-3 last week. The Chiefs have played just one playoff game, having secured the AFC’s lone bye as the #1 seed, and last week fought off the Cleveland Browns by a final score of 22-17.
The big story leading up to this one has been the status of Chiefs’ quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who was concussed in the second half of last week’s game. He has cleared the concussion protocol but will be dealing with a turf toe injury that could limit him a bit.
These two teams met earlier this season in Buffalo, and the Chiefs emerged victorious by a score of 26-17.
According to our friends at WeatherNation, the elements might play a small role in this one. Temperatures at kickoff are forecast to be just above freezing with winds out of the northeast at 5-10 miles an hour. There’s also a “slight chance” of precipitation in this one, but we’ll have to see if that develops.
