It looks like DE Everson Griffen has been making noise on Instagram about wanting to return to the Vikings for another year, I said the other day on the open thread when this subject came up I was, “meh about it.” Upon further reflection, I still am unless he’s rolling in on a veteran minimum contract and being used as a situational pass rusher or as someone pointed out the Brian Robison role his last couple of seasons. Feel free to
fight disagree with me in the comments. Every year the Vikings either don’t make the playoffs or once they are eliminated I find a team to follow to keep my interest in the NFL, this year I’m going to follow the Buffalo Bills, because of Stefon Diggs and it looks like they have an opportunity to make some noise this year in the post season. Note to Bills Mafia: if/when the Bills lose I apologize in advance. Meanwhile we’ll carry on with our news and links open thread full of crockpot recipes, nap strategies and beer recommendations; drop by for some fan wisdom, snark and it’s weekend eve, time the plan the beer and meat menu for the weekend.

Topic of the Day: Once your primary team in any sports league is eliminated from playoff competition do you pick another team to follow through the playoffs?
