Vikings sign OT Timon Parris to practice squad

And, with that, the practice squad is full again

As the Minnesota Vikings prepare to return to practice to ready themselves for Sunday’s prime-time battle against the Dallas Cowboys at U.S. Bank Stadium, they’ve made a move to make their practice squad whole once again.

The Vikings have signed offensive tackle Timon Parris to the practice squad, allowing them to reach their limit of 16.

Parris played his college football at Stony Brook, and went undrafted in the 2018 NFL Draft. He was then signed as a UDFA by the artists formerly known as the Washington Redskins. Parris spent two years with Washington, appearing in four games for them (mostly on special teams) over the course of the 2019 and 2020 seasons.

Since then, he’s had stops on the practice squads of the Atlanta Falcons, the Cleveland Browns, the Washington Football Team (again), and most recently with the Miami Dolphins, who waived him in mid-August.

The Vikings needed a tackle on their practice squad after the team promoted Blake Brandel to the 53-man roster following the injury to Patrick Peterson. Parris gives them someone with a little bit of experience to potentially fill that void.

With the signing of Parris, the Vikings’ practice squad currently looks like this:

  • FB Jake Bargas
  • LB Tuf Borland
  • TE Zach Davidson
  • TE Brandon Dillon
  • S Myles Dorn
  • G Dakota Dozier
  • G Kyle Hinton
  • WR Trishton Jackson
  • WR Myron Mitchell
  • CB Parry Nickerson
  • OT Timon Parris
  • RB A.J. Rose Jr.
  • DT T.J. Smith
  • CB Tye Smith
  • TE Luke Stocker
  • DE Kenny Willekes
