Nincompoop of the Week: Week 4 (Browns)

Pick who you think is a nincompoop this week. This is supposed to be fun, relax and enjoy.

Mike Zimmer - Why is Mike a nincompoop? Seems to be a repeated story from last year. The team is unable to win close games and make adjustments needed to get the win. There are big plays given up at the most inopportune times (33 yard run on 3rd and 20 to get in FG range before half). Also, I mentioned this two weeks ago when they continued to run Cook even though he clearly wasn’t good to go. The coaching staff decided to continue with Cook in this game and they should’ve waited another week for Cook to get healthy. You can pinpoint this on the training staff, but it was clear Cook was not 100% and they kept going until he limped off. The setback will likely mean several more games of Cook less than 100%.

Rashod Hill - Why is Rashod a nincompoop? 10 pressures allowed by Hill. That led the team and he clearly is a problem for this team. He had a tough draw this past week against Miles Garrett, but he wasn’t even an obstacle for Miles to go around. Just a pathetic showing from a professional player.

Nick Vigil - Why is Nick a nincompoop? 4 tackles on 78 plays against a team that is running it down your throats. Nick was out of position or easily blocked out of every play. He was the worst in run support and the more I watch the game the worse it looks. His time as a starter sounds like it is coming to an end soon. I used to question why is PFF grades were so low, but I believe it is because he just isn’t where he needs to be on a consistent basis.

Klint Kubiak - Why is Klint a nincompoop? Why is it every two minute drill the team ever runs it starts with a 5 yard pass or a dink and dunk approach? The Vikings were throwing 5 yard outs with 8 seconds left in the game. Also, there has to be better plays to get the ball out of Kirk’s hands faster. He was getting killed and there was nothing Klint could do to help.

Optimistic Omars/Sanguine Sallys - Why are they nincompoops? As promised to the doomers last week if we lost. Despite getting kicked in the face by this team, they keep on with the eternal optimism. Most of all, they dare you to question any player on the team. The team has the best WR duo, the best RB, the best QB, the improving OL, best DL, best LB and fantastic DBs. Zim is the greatest, Rick is the greatest, the training staff is elite, the buildings are perfect. How can this team lose according to some?

My real complaint is the tendency to go to the extreme with every opinion. One complaint about Kirk and you are a hater. One compliment and you are a lover. There is little nuance and you are either a homer or a doomer; a lover or a hater.
