A day after placing starting center Garrett Bradbury on their reserve/COVID-19 list, the Minnesota Vikings have added another of their offensive linemen to the list in guard Dakota Dozier.
Dozier is reportedly fully vaccinated, much like Bradbury, and was thought to have an opportunity to be elevated to the 53-man roster as a COVID-19 replacement when Bradbury was placed on the list yesterday. However, that will not happen, as there’s no chance for Dozier to get two negative tests lodged before the team departs for Baltimore tomorrow.
Mason Cole will get the start at center, and it’s quite possible that third-round pick Wyatt Davis, who got some run at center in Training Camp practices, could serve as his backup at that spot.
If the Vikings still feel the need to elevate an offensive lineman from the practice squad for Sunday’s game, they still have guard Kyle Hinton and tackle Timon Parris available for that purpose.
Once again, the Vikings have placed Dakota Dozier on the COVID-19 list. I know we’ve been rough on the guy around here for quite a while, but that certainly doesn’t mean that we don’t want him to have a quick recovery and get over this thing.
