Friday Open Thread

Good Morning!

First day off was a huge success, I spent part of the day needling my counterpart like she does to me; we’re in the middle of watching the Mandolorian Season 2; I’m getting the sprinkler system re-installed as we had to cut a bunch of wires and pipes to get the driveway extension put in, we’re also getting a concrete pad put in the back yard for a shed. Meanwhile we’ll carry on with our news and links open thread full of crockpot recipes, nap strategies and beer recommendations; drop by for some fan wisdom, snark and it’s weekend eve, time the plan the beer and meat menu for the weekend.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Vikings give Riley Reiff $1 million bonus: Money that he probably should have earned anyway.

Vikings news from other sources:

From Vikings.com: Vikings Hire Karl Scott to Coach Defensive Backs.

Vikings Sign Kicker Greg Joseph to Roster.

Paul Guenther Joining Vikings as Senior Defensive Assistant.

League News:

Raiders planning to release WR Tyrell Williams at start of new league year.

Seahawks receiving more calls on Russell Wilson after public comments.

Buccaneers QB Tom Brady set for minor surgical procedure on knee.

We come to today’s media selection: Black Sabbath - Paranoid

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to wash your hands, tip your waiter from a safe distance, and Welcome Aboard!
