Wednesday Open Thread: February 17, 2021

Happy Wednesday, everyone!

For all of our DN faithful who live in the southern tier of the US, I hope you’re staying warm and managing to avoid any major issues from the slew of storms and power outages. Up in this neck of the woods, we hear about a few inches of snow & a little cold air and laugh it off until you realize that those states don’t have the equipment that we have to move the snow, their houses and other infrastructure aren’t built to protect from the unusual cold that they’re having, and most folks down there don’t have a lot of winter-weather driving experience, so if you’re a praying person, you may want to keep ‘em in your prayers, there’s a lot of families with no heat and frozen water lines as they wait for power to be restored.

That being said, I would dive into the football news.....if there were any, but there isn’t. The Cousins rumors fizzled out, and I know of nothing else noteworthy, so let’s move on to the important things, such as smoker recipes.....and the occasional bit of expertise with regards to nap strategies. SKOL!

From the Detroit Free Press, Ryan Leaf shared his opinion of the NFL in the wake of the tragic death of Vincent Jackson who was found dead in a hotel room on Monday. Leaf is spot-on with his comments, in my opinion.
