Weekend Open Thread

Good Morning!

I mentioned in the comments yesterday mrs_rob received her second Covid vaccine, neither of us had any significant side effects to either dose; for those of you wondering I received the Moderna version and mrs_rob got the Pfizer. I recommend you get the vaccine when it’s available where you live....and if this triggers the anti-vaccination crowd too bad. Not much in the way of news right now as we crawl towards free agency. Meanwhile, we’ll carry on with our news and links open thread full of crockpot recipes, nap strategies and beer recommendations; drop by for some fan wisdom, snark and it’s the weekend, time to fire up that mock draft simulator, it’s going to be a long offseason.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Viking Hot Takes: Reiff, Hughes, Draft Crushes, and Hot Seats. Flip and Eric discuss the futures of Riley Reiff, Mike Hughes, and Mike Zimmer along with some draft and free agency talk.

Vikings news from other sources:

From Lunchbreak: Football Outsiders Lists Daring Offseason Move for Vikings to Make.

League News:

The “Good Morning Football” crew discusses which teams should be actively pursuing Seattle Seahawks QB Russell WIlson.

2021 NFL offseason: All 32 teams’ QB situations ahead of free agency, draft

Key Patriots opt-outs Dont’a Hightower, Patrick Chung, Marcus Cannon set to return in 2021.

Texans release RB Duke Johnson after two seasons.
(before you ask his PFF grade is 56)

We come to today’s media selection:
Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix Vol. 1 (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to wash your hands, tip your waiter from a safe distance, try the brisket, and Welcome Aboard!
