The mocks don’t seem to be updating as frequently

Okay. . .rather than declare that this thing is coming out on Saturdays, going forward this is just going to be a “weekend” product rather than one that comes out on a specific day. It’ll get done, and hopefully it will be earlier in the weekend than this, but I won’t make any promises going forward.

But, we’ve finally gotten to the fourth iteration of our Mock Draft Database for this season for your Minnesota Vikings. We’re finally up to 60 mock drafts, and the overall trends appear to be staying the same. For some reason, it doesn’t seem like we have as many people putting out new mocks as we have in years past. Maybe that’s just because of the weirdness of this past year, but it seems to be more difficult to find new mocks this year than it has been in the past.

With that, here are the 60 mocks that are a part of this week’s update. Again, mocks that involve the Vikings making a trade are shown in the Database in italics so that you can click on the links and understand what was done in those particular mocks.

As you can see, the defensive line is continuing its dominance, picking up 38 of the 60 possible selections in this week’s Database. The tie between Gregory Rousseau and Kwity Paye from last week has been broken, as Rousseau is now firmly back on top of the heap with 14 selections to 9 for Paye. Christian Barmore continues his strong showing, as his name appears 8 times for the second consecutive week.

Jaelan Phillips also holds steady with five selections, and Ronnie Perkins holds on to his one selection from last week as well. After dropping out of the Database, Jayson Oweh is back this week with one selection.

Offensive linemen are once again in the second spot, picking up 15 selections this time around. This week, the position is led by Alijah Vera-Tucker, as his name appears six times this week. Christian Darrisaw is mocked to the Vikings four times in this week’s update, while Rashawn Slater’s name shows up three times. After leaving the Database, Samuel Cosmi is back as well, picking up two selections this week.

The linebackers pick up most of what’s left as far as selections are concerned. Micah Parsons, another player that had departed our Database a while back, is now back with a pair of selections, while Dylan Moses and Azeez Ojulari each have one pick to their names.

The pass catchers are down to just two selections, as Jaylen Waddle and Kyle Pitts each appear one time in this week’s update, and Trey Lance continues to be the lone quarterback selection in our Database thus far.

Here’s what this week’s picks look like in donut form. As we’ve always said, you can click on this graph to embiggen it if you can’t quite read it at the size it is.

Incidentally, it was nice of the folks from Dictionary dot com to finally catch up to our command of the English language.

Just ignore that bit about “supposably,” because. . .seriously, ewwwwwwwwwww.

And now, for the first time this year, we have the famed “Jell-o salad” graph to show the trends that we’ve seen over the first four installments of our Database for this year. You may click to embiggen this one as well.

That’s the Mock Draft Database update for this week, ladies and gentlemen. We’ll be back with Version 5.0 sometime next weekend.
