The Vikings have signed 8 time Pro Bowl CB Patrick Peterson to a one year $10M Contract. Peterson has spent the first 10 years of his career in Arizona as their top CB. Patrick has 28 career INTs and 3 first team All Pro selections.
Peterson will immediately be the favorite for the CB #1 spot. This likely means Peterson and Dantzler on the outside and Gladney in the slot CB. He isn’t the All Pro he once was, but I have a feeling he still has some left in the tank.
There is also a 2nd possibility of Patrick Peterson moving to safety. There were some stories a few days ago that came out about Patrick Peterson being willing to move to safety. This could be a replacement for Anthony Harris. My gut reaction is we’re brining him in to play CB, but possibly he is our new safety.
There is a mix amongst the fanbase if we should try to win now or start building for the future. This is a win now move by Rick Spielman.
Welcome to Minnesota Patrick! (Please bring Larry Fitzgerald with you)

The contract details are emerging. It sounds like an $8M deal with $2M in incentives. $1M for 95% of playing time and $1M for All Pro. He has a decent chance to hit the first incentive if he is the starting CB or S. The 2nd one is a very long shot. He hasn’t been All Pro since 2015.
