Happy Monday, everyone!
Wow, the sports media is all abuzz about the Packer fan tradition of mooning the opposing team’s bus. The “revalation” came from a video (Chris has it in a story linked below, it’s awesome) with Randy Moss and Tommy Kramer telling old war stories at an autograph session. The video is hilarious. If you haven’t seen it, watch it, Chris has links for you in his story. What I also find entertaining is that many in the sports media are treating this as hot news, when most of us were aware of this practice for many years (or decades). Wait until someone tells the media that we landed on the moon.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
Here is the aforementioned piece about Randy Moss and Tommy Kramer, including links to the video, from Chris.
Wludford looks into the speculation that the Vikings may move Patrick Peterson to safety. If so, I think it’s a smart idea to give it a try. I’ll be honest, I was not impressed with the idea of signing Patrick Peterson for $10 million/year, but if he makes the transition to safety, he could be a huge boost to our secondary. I recall Corey Chavous making the move back in the 90s (I think it was the 90s), and he logged some solid years as a safety.
Can’t keep up with all of the mock drafts? You don’t have to, Chris summarizes them up for you in version 5.0 of the Minnesota Vikings Mock Draft Database.
Other Vikings/NFL news and random oddities and annoyances:
Someone in the league office really knew how to teach Rick a lesson. The NFL has taken one of Rick Speilman’s most coveted posessions away. That’s right, they took away one of his 7th round draft picks. From Yahoo, the Vikings lose a 7th round draft pick and 4 executives will be fined for 2019 salary cap violations. They say you could hear Spielman scream in agony from miles away upon hearing the news. I’m sure he’s working trades as we speak to regain the precious lost belonging. Poor fella.
You can see every trade, signing, and any other transaction around the NFL on the NFL.com transaction tracker.
Vikings.com recaps the first wave of Vikings free agency as Eric Smith opens the Monday Morning Mailbag.
The attorney representing Deshaun Watson’s accusers plans to submit evidence and affidavits to the Houston police department and district attorney today, per ESPN.

Best Way to Cook a S’more: Cooking Tips With Uncle Rob
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Take the gender hatred elsewhere, it won’t be tolerated
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-If discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on, don’t forget to tip the cows and settle in, this part of the season gets long and boring.
