In Exchange for a 6th Round Pick

The Vikings have given the Arizona Cardinals a 6th round pick in exchange for Mason Cole. Mason is entering his 4th year in the league. He started all 16 games his rookie year at center, was mostly a backup in 2019 and got 2 starts at left guard and started 14 games at center last year. The vast majority of his NFL experience is at center. However, the common thought out there seems to be they are brining Mason in to compete for a spot at LG. Mason played a mix of Left Tackle and Center during his time at Michigan in college.

PFF Overall Grade of 54.4, so don’t expect perfection from him.

Mason has one year left on his rookie deal. He will count $2.18M against the cap this year. The Vikings had around $10.3M in space prior to this trade (with Kyle Rudolph still on the books). They will have around $8.6M left in space to spend. Kyle Rudolph coming off the books on June 1st should provide enough space to sign the draft pics.

Welcome to Minnesota Mason!
