Happy Wednesday, everyone!
Hey, all of you who were unhappy that the Vikings weren’t doing enough to address the O-line should be happy now after Dakota Dozier was signed by the Vikings, right?........uhhh, right? Oh, you’re not? Oh, okay, sorry (no, I’m not). Sheesh, you just can’t please some folks. I would imagine that the team plans to address the O-line very heavily in the draft, let’s hope that those years when they were.........less than successful......at drafting offensive linemen were just learning years for the front office. They’ve had a bit more success in the past few years, and have landed guys like Cleveland and O’Neill, so let’s hope that trend continues and we see more picks like O’Neill, and fewer picks like Willie Beavers (by the way, Beavers was signed by the Falcons in January).
Around the DN since our last open thread:
The NFL made the 17-game regular season official, per Chris.
As I mentioned above, the Vikings have re-signed G Dakota Dozier, Chris has the details.
Arif was here! and he brings you Norse Code Podcast Episode 369: Draft Capital.
BJ Reidell and Drew Mahowold discuss the latest Vikings free agency signings in Unbelievable! - Out of the Woods.
Other Vikings/NFL news and random oddities and annoyances:
From NFL.com, for an update on the progress on a new contract with Aaron Rodgers, Packers CEO Mark Murphy offers.....nothing. Kinda reminds me of the soup nazi, only he’s the contract news nazi. NO NEWS FOR YOU!
The NFL informed clubs that phase one of offseason workouts may begin on April 19, according to NFL.com.
We come to today’s media selection:
So, kiddo and I were out in the garage the other night, and if he gets bored, he likes to sit in the back of my pickup & watch TV. So, I turned on the TV, and we scanned through Youtube trying to find something funny to watch, and we found this. Not sure if you’ve ever seen it, but here you go. It’s...........something, it’s called Chicky. Enjoy!
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion-
-No feeding of the trolls
-Take the gender hatred elsewhere, it won’t be tolerated
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-If discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on, don’t forget to tip the cows, and settle in, it’s starting to get exciting.
