Good Morning!
If anyone does a “Rickspeak” Fanpost let me know, I’ll take a look at it and most likely move it to the front page. Thank you to everyone who participated in the Daily Norseman mailbag, I was concerned based on past reviews that I’d get one or two questions per article but so far we’ve far exceeded that. I’m back on service for the next seven days, so words up here might get limited based on how late I have to work. Meanwhile we’ll carry on with our news and links open thread full of crockpot recipes, nap strategies and beer recommendations; drop by for some fan wisdom, snark and it’s Thursday, it’s going to be a long offseason so stock up on the food and drinks now.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
Rick Spielman says Danielle Hunter hasn’t asked for a raise or a trade. Can we take that at face value ponders Christopher.
GreatOdinsRaven posted: Mock Draft Monday: Mike Zimmer Edition. Tyler Forness and Ryan Ortega take us through another live draft for our Minnesota Vikings.
I posted The Daily Norseman Mailbag, March 3rd, 2021, where you have questions, we have answers.
Vikings news from other sources:
From Vikings.com: General Manager Rick Spielman addressed the media from the TCO Performance Center on Wednesday and discussed Upcoming ‘Tough Decisions,’ Trade Rumors Surrounding Cousins, Approach to Free Agency and The Draft, Plus More.
Chris Doleman Inducted to Minnesota Sports Hall of Fame.
Lunchbreak: The Athletic Analyzes Vikings TEs After Rudolph’s Departure.
League News:
2021 NFL Scouting Combine: Full list of invited prospects.
NFL owners to consider rule that makes roughing the passer penalties reviewable.
Las Vegas Raiders discussing potential Trent Brown trade.
2021 NFL free agency matchmaking: One fit for each NFC team.
(I liked their pick for the Vikings on a one year deal)
We come to today’s media selection: Sim Balkey - Forever,Tonight
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to wash your hands, tip your waiter from a safe distance, and Welcome Aboard!
