We have damn near made it to the 2021 NFL Draft, folks, and it won’t be a moment too soon. In just 10 days, we’re going to start learning who the newest members of your Minnesota Vikings will be when the 2021 season finally comes around.

With that in mind, this will be your second-to-last installment of this year’s Database. The final version will not hit over this coming weekend, but will come out on Draft Day, 29 April, to give us one last, fresh look at who the experts are projecting the Vikings to draft.

For this week, we are up to 100 mock drafts from different sources around the internet, whether it’s the big names or guys that just do this for kicks. We’re seeing a pretty solid fight for who will be the top player taken as well as the most-selected position group, as you’ll see when we get to the breakdown.

So, without any further ado, here are our 100 mocks for this week.

After the offensive linemen jumped to the top of the pile last week, they were knocked back down again by their counterparts on the defensive line. . .but it’s close. This week, 44 of our 100 selections were devoted to offensive linemen. The player most often selected, both among offensive linemen and in our Database overall for this week, is Michigan defensive end Kwity Paye, who got picked 21 times. He’s close to doubling the next-closest defensive linemen, that being Miami (FL) defensive end Jaelan Phillips with 12. Gregory Rousseau, who led a lot of the early installments of our Database, is down to six selections for this week.

Christian Barmore, the Alabama defensive tackle, still has four selections, and Penn State defensive end Jayson Oweh rounds things out for the defensive line with one selection.

The offensive linemen have retreated to #2 this week, but it’s very close as the o-line was mocked to the Vikings in 42 of our 100 mocks this week. USC guard Alijah Vera-Tucker has leapfrogged over Virginia Tech tackle Christian Darrisaw for the top spot among the offensive linemen. Vera-Tucker went from 12 picks last week to 20 this week, while Darrisaw dropped from 20 selections down to 15. Northwestern tackle Rashawn Slater also dropped off a little bit, garnering six selections this week. The only selection for an offensive lineman that didn’t go to one of those three players went to the lone debuting player in our Database for this week, Teven Jenkins of Oklahoma State.

The defensive backs are next in line with a total of ten selections. South Carolina cornerback Jaycee Horn leads everyone with three selections, but three others. . .Alabama’s Patrick Surtain, Texas Christian’s Trevon Moehrig, and Virginia Tech’s Caleb Farley. . .come in with two each. Greg Newsome of Northwestern maintained his one pick from last week.

The linebackers wound up with three picks this week, as both Penn State’s Micah Parson’s (2 selections) and Georgia’s Azeez Ojulari (1 selection) maintained their support from last week. The last selection brought us back to the quarterback position, as our own Mark P. from DraftTek has the Vikings nabbing North Dakota State star Trey Lance.

For the first time in this Mock Draft Database process for this year, there are no pass catchers, be they tight ends or wide receivers, in the Database for this week.

Here’s what the pictures look like, folks. First off, the donut graph for this week’s selections. Although we’ve had 28 players appear in our Database for this year, only 17 of them appear among this week’s 100 mocks. As always, click on the picture to embiggen it if you wish.

Finally, we have our trends for the eight installments of our Database thus far. You can see a lot of players that started off strong and have seen their support wane in recent weeks, along with players that are really making a late push. Once again, click on the picture to embiggen it in order to make it easier to read.

That is our Mock Draft Database for this week, ladies and gentlemen. Which player and position group is going to come out on top when the actual 2021 NFL Draft comes around? We’ll find out on Draft Day!
