Merry Tuesday, everyone!
Hey, we’re inching closer and closer to the NFL draft. I see that the Vikings are reportedly testing the waters to potentially trade up in the draft to select a tackle. If it’s true, I’m all for it. If there’s a guy you like, go get him instead of staying put and selecting someone and hoping he works out. Since it’s Pelissero, I’ll set aside my usual skepticism, I have more respect for him than a majority of the media. For 99.9999% of NFL reports at this time of year, as I say every year, and I’ll say it again now, take reports that come out within a month of the draft with an entire pallet of salt blocks. Treat these reports the same way you treat the National Enquirer reports that say there’s a Bat Boy running around who is half-bat and half-human. Now, if you’re someone who believes that the Bat Boy story is true.....ummm.......I guess you can believe these reports then, but you shouldn’t. If you are the Bat Boy, well then I guess we’re getting a tackle, and I’m happy with that. Hey, do you have the bat sonar hearing thing, and does that help you drive at night? That would be an upside to being a bat boy.
Right now, GMs and the sports media are throwing around more BS than a manure spreader on a 1,000 head cattle ranch, try not to get any on your jeans.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
Chris has some big news for you Vikings/Fortnight fans. Honestly, when I first read “Hit the (virtual) Griddy” on Chris’ headline, my comprehension level was the same as that of a wildebeast looking at a headline on the Wall Street Journal, I had to go read through the story so I’d be able to put together a short, one-sentence synopsis. I’ve seen Jefferson’s TD dance, but as someone who watches games on mute, I wasn’t familar with the term “Griddy”, and now, I finally know what a Fortnight is! (sorta) I’ve seen that word plastered on various signage on the occasions that I’m forced to traverse the public places, but I didn’t know what it was. I remember asking kiddo one day “what on earth is a fartnight”, which he found amusing. I have not been into video games for a long time, although I must say that the old skills have come back quickly recently. We got kiddo a Nintendo Switch for his birthday, so I’ve played the occasional game of Mario Kart and Super Mario 3-D world with him. Back in the day, I was quite the master of Mike Tyson’s Punch Out, Super Mario Bros., Zelda, and some others, but that was a LOOOOOOONNNNNNNGGGGGGG time ago.
Chris shared the report of the Vikings exploring a trade-up in order to select a tackle.

Poll
Hey, grab yourself a salt block, let’s pretend that the reports are true and the Vikings are looking to trade up to select Sewell or Slater if they slide. Do you think that would be a wise move for the Vikings to make?

They should do it for either player, sell the farm if they need to, just get it done.
-

Do it for either player provided the deal to move up doesn’t cost too much

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on, don’t forget to tip the cows, and settle in, it’s starting to get exciting.
