The Minnesota Vikings traded back in the 2021 NFL Draft, picked up a pair of third-round picks, and managed to get a player that should immediately come in and fill a need.
With the 23rd pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings selected Virginia Tech offensive tackle Christian Darrisaw.
Darrisaw should immediately slot in at the left tackle spot and give Kirk Cousins the blindside protector that the Minnesota offense has lacked for a very long time. They got some pretty solid value at that pick given that Darrisaw was one of the higher-ranked offensive tackles on this year’s board.
What do you think of the way the Vikings and Rick Spielman handled the first round of the NFL Draft? What do you think of the selection of Christian Darrisaw?
Personally, I’m thrilled with the pick and can’t wait to see Darrisaw get out there and start crushing people.
Without a pick in the second round, the next time the Vikings are scheduled to be on the clock is at #66 in the third round with one of the picks they acquired from the New York Jets for trading down.
