After grabbing their long-term left tackle on the first night of the 2021 NFL Draft with the selection of Christian Darrisaw, the Minnesota Vikings went after a player that will likely serve as his tag team partner at left guard with the selection of Ohio State guard Wyatt Davis.
Getting Davis as late in the third round as the Vikings did appears to be an outright theft by Rick Spielman and company. Davis is a guy who performed at a ridiculously high level for the Buckeyes, having been named an All-American and a First-Team All-Big Ten performer over the past two years. He did deal with some injuries this past year and wasn’t quite as dominant in 2020 as he had been in 2019, but he was still pretty darn good.
If the Vikings manage to hit on both Darrisaw and Davis, the left side of their offensive line is going to be set for a very long time. When was the last time we were able to say that about the Vikings?
What do you think of the selection of Wyatt Davis? Let us know here!
