With what appears to be their final pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings used the 199th overall selection, a sixth-round pick (aka “The Tom Brady pick”), to select Jaylen Twyman, a defensive tackle from the University of Pittsburgh.
Twyman joins his Pitt teammate, Patrick Jones, who the Vikings selected with their last pick in the third round. Twyman was one of the players that opted out of the 2020 season because of concerns over COVID-19, but he had an outstanding 2019 season for the Panthers. The Vikings signed Dalvin Tomlinson to play at the three-technique spot for the next couple of seasons, but Twyman should have an opportunity to learn a few things from him during that time as he (hopefully) develops into a major part of the Vikings’ d-line rotation.
Unless the Vikings want to trade back into the draft using picks for next season, their 2021 draft class is in the books. Let us know what you think of this final pick, folks!
