Man, this month-long week is almost over.

Happy happy Friday, everyone!

Man, this week has dragged on for an eternity. For some reason, I have been looking forward to the weekend since about 20 seconds after waking up on Monday morning. I’m glad it’s almost here, I hope I can survive. Hey, I want to wish a very happy anniversary to my beautiful wife, Mrs. Fishin’, who has somehow managed to stay married to me for 10 years without killing me or even wanting to kill me.....or so she says. I guess if she were plotting such a thing, I would likely not be someone she would tell. She wants to go do something tonight, I’m thinking fishing would be a perfect date for our 10th anniversary. Everyone in agreement? Good! It’s settled then. Thanks!

Around the DN since our last open thread:

The Vikings have reportedly traded Mike Hughes to the Chiefs. Chris quotes Schefter, who is one of the most reliable journalists out there, and he reported that the Vikings gave Hughes and a 7th round pick to the Chiefs in exchange for a 6th round pick. That’s..........not much, but not all draft picks work out, even first round picks, so I guess get something for him while you can. My gut is telling me that the Vikings are working a deal, I think we’ll see a trade or a free-agent signing for a cornerback in the near future. We’ll see if I’m correct.

wludford breaks down TE Zach Davidson.

From Chris, Ihmir Smith-Marsette and Zach Davidson signed their rookie contracts.

Other Vikings/NFL news and random oddities and annoyances:

From NFL.com, Dre Kirkpatrick has a workout scheduled with the Patriots, and Kelvin Benjamin is to try out for the Giants.

Not much else out there, folks, we’re back into that slow cycle. Enjoy your Friday!

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Take the gender hatred elsewhere, it won’t be tolerated
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-If discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on, don’t forget to tip the cows, and settle in and join the party.
