Minnesota Vikings News and Links: Thursday May 20th, 2021

Good Morning!

The first paragraph here has nothing to do with the Vikings, if you’re a “I only come here for football” guy/gal feel free to skip over it and move on down to the links...actually I’d recommend that.

I struggle at times to fill the space up here, on a scale of brick to Burnsie (RIP) on sharing personal information on social media I’m a brick. I don’t know if anyone noticed but I took two weeks away from The Daily Norseman to tend to an immediate family member who has a chronic psychiatric illness. He and I are in this together, I’m his advocate and very obnoxious supporter. mrs_rob and I spent Mother’s Day (which was also our 29th wedding anniversary) in the hospital with him, I told her we’d had better anniversary dates, she remarked “we’re still together and love each other.” As usual mrs_rob was right. In any case my job is to look out for my family member and make sure he takes his medication, has a job and doesn’t have a regression. It is likely I will have to stop posting for a period of time again, many thanks to Gone Fishin and GA Skol who responded to my texts immediately and agreed to post for me. This is the entirety of what I’ll say about what’s going on at my home, but I’m glad things are better and I’m back for the moment.

Meanwhile, we’ll carry on with our news and links open thread full of crockpot recipes, nap strategies and beer recommendations; drop by for some fan wisdom, snark and it’s Thursday, one more day until it’s weekend eve and time to plan the beer and meat menu for the weekend.
