May the Fourth be with you........always

Merry Tuesday, everyone!

What? You’re surprised that I’m a Star Wars fan? Just because I despise technology doesn’t mean I don’t like a good movie. I haven’t watched all of the newfangled stuff they came out with. I think I saw that first three pack rendition thingy, and I didn’t think it compared to the original trilogy, so I haven’t watched any since. Maybe I’ll give some of the other movies a look-see someday. I’d rather go fishing, and if it’s raining and I can’t fish and really needed to watch a show, I’d just watch Lonesome Dove........again.

Speaking of rainy days, we had one here a few days back, and kiddo and I were getting restless, so we took all of his Hot Wheels tracks and made one big track that goes around the basement. As all of my projects tend to do, this one grew a bit, and I’m not qujte finished. When I get it done, I’ll try to remember to post pictures. It’s pretty cool, there are 3 boosters on it (for now, I ordered a couple more on Amazon), it goes up one wall, has a couple loops in it, goes up another wall and back down, then goes back to the where it started and connects to the track again, so once you get a car going, you can just let it keep going round and round. It’s taking up a good chunk of the basement, but it’s really cool. Don’t tell my wife this, but we’re considering routing it up the stairs to the main floor. She’d better hope she doesn’t go on any overnight trips.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Rob broke open the Daily Norseman Mailbag.

The team officially declined to pick up the fifth year option on Mike Hughes’ contract.

wludford breaks down the newest Vikings quarterback, Kellen Mond.

Other Vikings/NFL news and random oddities and annoyances:

Thursday Night Football will be exclusively on Amazon, and it’s happening a year earlier than originally planned, per ESPN. The deal was set to happen for the 2023 season, but it will now become a thing in 2022.

Thanks to Backslider22 for the heads-up on this Bleacher Report piece that talks about the schism that seems in Green Bay that seems to be widening into a rupture. Not that I’d ever be happy over another team’s drama...................oh wait, yeah I would. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

The Sporting News has a fifth-year option tracker, for those of you who are interested.

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Take the gender hatred elsewhere, it won’t be tolerated
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-If discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on, don’t forget to tip the cows, and settle in, it’ll be a while until the real show starts.
