Good Morning!

We have mini-camp to look forward to next week along with the continuing saga of will he/won’t he show up (he won’t) Danielle Hunter. The Vikings need Hunter on the field to complete the defense, it’s time to free up some cap space (stands at 11M right now if I remember correctly) and give Hunter some more guaranteed money for this year then renegotiate his contract next offseason when the cap increases. I have nothing personal to report to talk about this week as that set two people off last week...besides I’m working anyway. Meanwhile, we’ll carry on with our news and links open thread full of crockpot recipes, nap strategies and beer recommendations; drop by for some fan wisdom, snark and it’s the weekend, time to fire up the smoker and start chilling the beer.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Sad News: Vikings’ super fan Millie Wall passes away, she was 102 years old.

Vikings news from other sources:

From Vikings.com: Vikings LB Anthony Barr was wired for sound during an OTA practice at the TCO Performance Center this past week.

Lunchbreak: Smith, Jr., Picked as Potential Vikings 2021 Breakout Candidate.

League News:

Saints QB Drew Brees’ retirement official three months after announcement.

Aaron Rodgers trade? Richard Sherman re-sign? Big moves NFL teams should make this offseason.

Bengals G Michael Jordan on play that got Joe Burrow hurt: ‘I took it really personal’

Debrief: What matters — and what doesn’t — from this week’s OTAs, minicamps.

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to wash your hands, tip your the cows and your waiter, save some shrimp and grits for MT, and Welcome Aboard!
