Good Morning!

What a difference 24 hours makes for the Vikings defense. At some point during the off-season HC Mike Zimmer woke up and said to himself, “my defense will not suck this year.” Getting a deal done with DE Danielle Hunter actually lowered the Vikings cap this year from everything I’m reading on Twitter and elsewhere. I did see DT Sheldon Richardson is in negotiations with the Vikings; I was excited when he signed in 2018 but I can’t remember if he made a significant contribution from the 3T spot. Mini-camp starts today so we’ll have actual football stuff to argue talk about for a week or so, which is nice.

Meanwhile we’ll carry on with our news and links open thread full of crockpot recipes, nap strategies and beer recommendations; drop by for some fan wisdom, snark and it’s Tuesday, not quite Wednesday but at least it’s not Monday.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Christopher recorded a podcast with the guys from The Vikings Gazette.

Report: Vikings nearing deal with Sheldon Richardson.

Report: Danielle Hunter Agrees to Restructured Contract.

Danielle Hunter will be at Vikings’ mini-camp this week.

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to wash your hands, tip the cows and Welcome Aboard!
