With all of the moves that the Minnesota Vikings have made this offseason, there still might be some questions about who is going to line up opposite of Danielle Hunter at defensive end. An old friend is apparently really wanting a reunion, but should the Vikings be interested?
Paul Allen on KFAN said DE Everson Griffen “desperately wants to come back to the Minnesota #Vikings.”

Griffen texted Allen that he “bleeped up” with his tweets regarding Cousins and that it was wrong.
Allen also mentioned Griffen still has people in his corner with the team
According to Vikings’ play-by-play voice Paul Allen, former Viking Everson Griffen is “desperately” wanting to come back and play for the Vikings. Griffen spent the first ten years of his NFL career with the Vikings before splitting last season between the Dallas Cowboys and the Detroit Lions.
This sort of reignites the rumors from earlier in the offseason that saw Griffen angling to get back to the Vikings, but then he made several posts that were critical of quarterback Kirk Cousins and, at that point, it seemed that the interest had cooled.
I know that, on the surface, a reunion with Everson Griffen sounds like it might be a good idea. However. . .the Vikings just spent two more draft picks on edge defenders in Patrick Jones II and Janarius Robinson, and the odds of guys that were selected in the third or fourth round sneaking onto the practice squad if they’re waived is pretty slim. The Vikings also have D.J. Wonnum looking to capitalize on a fairly decent rookie season and Stephen Weatherly back in the fold as well.
Personally, you’d really have to sell me on a Griffen reunion at this point, but your mileage may vary, as always. What do you folks think of the idea of getting Griffen and Hunter together again?
