You’ve reached the peak of the week, we’re here to lead you to the weekend!

Happy Wednesday, everyone!

Your hump day open thread is up and running. We’re still in the doldrums of the off-season, so there is not much to talk about. Normally, the only football-related news this time of year involves the police, a courtroom, or something of the sort. Well, that is unless your team has a drama-queen type quarterback who can’t decide whether he can bear the agony of reporting to work for a paltry $35 million paycheck, then you may have periodic updates about that.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Rob busted open the Daily Norseman Mailbag.

As I mentioned above, court news. The Jeff Gladney case will go to a grand jury on July 22nd, per Chris. You may recall that the dumb a** Gladney punched a woman (I assume it was his girlfriend or something of the sort), strangled her, and pulled her hair (WTH?) multiple times in a vehicle back in April. She escaped the vehicle and called 911 while Gladney fled the scene. I don’t see this turning out well for the cornerback, but we’ll see what he’s done since and how he addresses this situation, and whether he remains a Viking. I doubt it.

Other Vikings/NFL news and random oddities and annoyances:

From CBS Sports, Steelers LB Cassius Marsh had some unkind words about playing in New England and “The Patriot Way”. In the interest of objectivity, I’ll mention that Marsh is also on his 7th team in 8 seasons.

ESPN analyzes the Packers defense, and considers whether they’ll be better, worse, or the same.

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Welcome aboard! Belly up & tie one one, don’t forget to tip the cows, and try the head cheese.
